Artist's statement: My paintings come from within. I paint what I feel as opposed to what I see. I prefer to work on self-constructed panels and found remnants such as old pallets, as I find the organic rawness of wood adds another layer of complexity to my work.
BIO: Karrin graduated from Arizona State University and her work has shown in Arizona and Colorado. She works mainly in acrylic and oil on salvaged wood and self constructed wood panels. Her paintings are usually composed of layers of paint and personal information, such as birth certificates, newspaper articles, and obituaries. While these layers culminate in a simple graphic image, portions of them remain subtly exposed, hinting at the deeper meaning that lies beneath.
